Enrique Jarquin is an aspiring star in the Latindance scene with education in many dance styles such as Modern Aforcuban or Latin Ballroom. Some of his awards include “Voted Bay Area’s best solo dancer on1” in 2005 and a solo solo dance master in San Francisco. He was also part of “Off Brodway” productions such as “Rock with You” in memory of Michael Jackson along with other renowned artists.

Lorenita Andrade is one of the youngest and most talented stars in the Latin dance scene, both nationally and internationally. At a young age she has already achieved a great deal and captivated the audience. She has studied many different dance styles, including ballet and contemporary dance. Some of her successes are “Que tarde tan padre” National Champion, TV shows at children’s dance competitions, organized by Cecilia Galeano and “Reto Juvenil ‘2do Campeonato Mundial de Baile” World Champion.



LEO & BECKY (Brazil / NZ)

Leonardo Neves and Becky are Professional Dance Teachers whom currently travel the World Dancing, specializing in Brazilian Zouk, Samba de Gafieira and other Brazilian Dance Styles. They are invited to Teach and Perform at Congresses, Workshops and Festivals all over the World

Leonardo Neves begun dancing at 8 years old as a part of an after school program, this is where his interest in Dance begun. Leonardo then spent 6 years attending various dance schools he studied Bolero, Soltinho, Samba and Forro. When he was 14 years old he went to Renata and Adilio’s Dance School, here he studied Zouk, and other Brazilian styles of dance for 7 Years. Over this time he performed with the company at different events including Congresses and at Theatres. He competed with various dance partners and won the 1st Place in the “Onda Zouk“ Competition. After some time he became the dance partner of Renata Pecanha, he traveled, taught and performed with her Nationally. From 2009 to 2012 he traveled both Nationally and Internationally teaching and performing these Choreography from small events to some of the biggest Congresses in the World. He is now a well known and recognized teacher by many people in the dance scene. At the beginning of 2013 Leonardo started his new career with Becky Neves, they have many exciting travels and congresses planned for the year, to share the love of dancing around the world.

Becky began dancing in High School where she studied Dance as a Subject. She learnt to Choreograph, Document and Videograph different styles of dance. She then went into Latin American Dancing at Colleen Murray Dance Studio, during this time she studied a little of Samba, Jive, Cha Cha Cha, and Rumba in the Latin American Genre. She competed in local Dancesport competitions in her level and made a placing in every competition. Within 10 months of training she competed in one of the biggest dance competitions in New Zealand in 30 years the ISDF. The same day she was selected to go to Australia to dance on a television program called ‘Strictly Dancing’. After a few competitions and a few years she started dancing more of the Street Latin Styles with Latin Fire, with them she studied Salsa, Street Cha, Merengue and Bachata. She performed and competed with them for some years. In this time she entered into the South Islands (Teachers Level), the Nationals (Professional level) and even started a Bachata Team which she trained and took to the New Zealand Pacific Salsa Congress. Her team was selected to Perform in Australia at the Sydney Salsa Congress. Becky then began her interest in Zouk and Samba and traveled to Brazil to expand her knowledge in these styles of dance. She taught on a Cruise ship event organized by ‘World Salsa Tours’. She has been training very hard since with Leonardo Neves. She is the Dance Partner of Leonardo who is an International Professional Artist who specializes in Brazilian Dance.


Born and bred in Paris (France), Kevin has over 6 years of teaching experience. Kevin first started his journey with Bachata and then he discovered Kizomba, growing his skills in both styles in France and throughout Europe in many different international dance festival. He specialised in Sensual Bachata trained and inspired by the most famous dancers like Daniel&Desiree. His Kizomba has been developed with the French Touch, being trained by Isabelle&Felicien and other well known French instructors. He started his teaching in Paris and came especially to Australia to share and continue his passion for the dance. The first stop was in Sydney where he ran sensual bachata classes with the beautiful Paris Peñalver. He decided to move to Perth where he founded his own company. Under the name Swave Dance Kevin is now a full time dance instructor in Perth, he has been working with different dance schools in Western Australia before becoming an independent artist. Since being in Australia Kevin has been invited to the Awake Festival, Australian Kizomba festival to perform and run workshops as well as Asia. He runs weekly bachata and kizomba classes and organises regular events for the dance community.


BRUNO & ELISE (Brisbane)

Bruno and Elise first started performing together in 2014 with the touring stage show Brazouka at Jupiter’s Casino, in the final months of the show’s international tour at the Gold Coast. They both have extensive experience in the dance industry.

Elise’s experience in dance spans 30 years. She has professionally trained, performed and taught across a number of disciplines including ballet, contemporary, and Latin dance. As a teenager she performed with the Australian Ballet and English National Ballet in touring seasons to Brisbane, then completed her professional training with the National Theatre Ballet School in Melbourne. After a summer season performing in Allbany and New York City with Ajkun Ballet Theatre, she then travelled dancing throughout Europe and discovered Salsa at Pineapple Dance Studios in London’s West End. Elise further discovered Capoeira in London, and continued this training in Brisbane at Xango. This led to her to her love for Latin Dance and training to become a Senior Instructor at Rio Rhythmics Latin Dance Academy in Brisbane, as well as further training in Brazil.

Bruno’s extensive experience began with Mimulus Dance Company where he danced for 20 years and participated in all of Mimulus shows between 1993 and 2011; including performances in France, USA, Canada, Spain, Finland, Chile, Argentine and several cities in Brazil. Graduating with a degree in Physical Education at the University Center of Belo Horizonte(UNI-BH) Bruno went on to study Pedagogy of Movement at the University at Minas Gerais(UFMG) and a Diploma in Events Management at William Angliss, Melbourne. Bruno both choreographed and performed in the shows De Carne e Sonho, Do Lado Esquerdo de Quem Sobe, Dolores as well as Por um fio in which he was also director of the experimental group. In 2004 Bruno won the Best Male DancerAward at SESC-SATED/MG(Syndicate Of Artists And Technicians In Shows The Amusement Of The State Of Minas Gerais) and USIMINAS- SINPARC/MG (Syndicate of Producers of Performing Arts in Minas Gerais) in 2010 he won the Best Male Dancer at SESC-SATED/MG Award. Furthermore, in 2007 Bruno was considered one of the ‘Top 3 most influential dancers of the decade’ by SESC-SATED/MG.


Nestor and Kylie of Modus Vivendi and Latin Dance Australia, won their trip and spot to showcase at the New Zealand Salsa Congress by winning Australia’s most entertaining couple at the 2017 Sydney Latin Festival Australia’s Best Latin Couple Dance Competition.

Nestor is no stranger to New Zealand dancers having travelled over 10 times in past years, and is looking forward to one of his favourite events in NZ.

Kylies debut appearance in New Zealands latin dance scene comes after a string of successes in Australia and Internationally. Winning multiple Australian titles as part of MV/LDA Pro teams in Bachata, Reggeaton and Cha Cha, she also hit headlines last year together with Nestor after making the Finals of the WORLD LATIN DANCE CUP in the Bachata Pro Couples Division on her first appearance on the International stage as a Pro.

Artia was born in the capital city of Tehran Iran. As he was always interested in dancing he started learning street Hip-Hop from a very young age. At the age of 14 he decided to travel to Australia and explore the world of dancing in a greater capacity as dancing in Iran was only allowed behind closed doors. He soon started taking dance classes at the Blackwood Dance Academy and it was later on that year when he was introduced to Salsa at the young age of 15. He soon became really passionate about Salsa dancing as from then onwards he trained for the next 3 years with various instructors in Adelaide. Later on he decided to take his dancing career to the next level by moving to Sydney and training with one of world’s Best and 7 times World Champion Oliver Pineda.
After Spending 4 months at Oliver’s Dance Academy ‘Latin Motion’ he joined the Elite ‘Modus Vivendi’ Salsa Team in Sydney where he went onto winning various Australian Championship Titles in the Solo, Team and Partnered Categories. After winning 4 titles during 2012/13 he competed at the World Latin Dance Cup representing Australia where he and his team placed 3rd in the finals of the World Championships. Subsequently he took a year off Salsa dancing to move to Melbourne and expand his knowledge by completing a degree in Performing Arts, training in Ballet, Lyrical, Hip-hop and Jazz under the supervision of the incredible Robert Sturrock and the Industry Dance Academy. Artia is now inspired to travel the world and represent his unique Salsa Style. His passion for salsa and the authenticity of salsa dancing as well as his training in various other styles has made him an incredible and unique performer & instructor.

He has had the privilege to train with many of Australia’s and the World’s best such as Oliver Pineda, Becky Lee, Jhon Narvaez, Jaime & Nestor Manuelian, Alex Bryan and many more

CARLOS & CHLOE (Spain / Brisbane)

Chloe is one of Australia’s leading female dance instructors and performers in Salsa, Bachata, Samba and Kizomba. She is known for her high-energy, passion and creativity on stage, socially and in her classes. Chloe has been a part of the latin community for over 13 years and now running her own professional entertainment company and dance school, Paradizo. Over the years, she has produced numerous professional dance shows and student choreographies, as 11well as being a professional judge on the competition circuit. She has performed for Channel 10 on Everybody Dance Now as a finalist with her professional Samba Team and has been contracted as the official entertainment for numerous special events around Australia. Her aim is to share her passion and knowledge with her students and professional dancers so that dance in the community is improving in culture and quality.

Carlos from Barcelona (Spain) started at the age of 14yo, focusing on Bachata Sensual, Moderna and Dominican; Salsa LA and Mambo and Lambazouk. He is known for his fresh urban movement, charisma and high-energy. After many years of training with the best of Europe, Carlos became a teacher in the biggest latin dance school in Barcelona: UDance. He then decided to move to Italy, where he taught in major dance schools, pushing Bachata Sensual. Later that year, he was featured in Madrid’s Bachata Day festival, teaching a workshop along side artists such as Daniel and Desiree and Alamana y Ataca. He was also a part of The World Team Project of Daniel y Desiree performing with Italy’s Team. In December of 2015, Carlos met Chloe Loh in a small social party in Rome and decided to move to Australia. He had no doubt that this would be an opportunity of his life and had no hesitiation to leave everything to make his dreams come true. After only 4 weeks in Australia partnering with Chloe, they won a National Championships of the World Bachata Champions of Champions and next October they will represent Australia in London.

GABI (Brazil/Auckland)

About Gabi: Born and raised in Brazil – She has the fire, the rhythm cursing through her veins, the passion for music, a positive energy for life and dance, the art of performance and a desire to be better than she was the day before that keeps her driven and excited about each day. Gabi started dancing Ballet at the age of 5. She then started folklore dancing at the age of 11 then growing up she became part of the professional performers the Roots of America Dance group in South Brazil. Parading, performing and always being involved at Carnaval in Brazil makes Gabi an authentic performer- she says that being able to spread the energy, the passion and the history of samba and her culture it is her biggest passion, loving to see how everyone enjoy and respect the Brazilian Culture around the world. Her talents extend to being choreographer and performer for The Brazilian divas samba Group in New Zealand and now having her own samba dance school SAMBA PASSION where she teaches male, female and kids. She is passionate for brazilian music not only talented with samba but also performs afro axe and Brazilian funk music. She is also a certified fitness and Zumba Instructor where she teaches around New Zealand, joining the convetion in Orlando always looking to learn new styles. Dancing and Brazilian music is in her DNA, she feels very fortunate and privileged to be able to share this passion with her students and the people who get to watch her perform.


COCO (Auckland)

Coco, who was born in Peru, began teaching Salsa in New Zealand from 1997 and since then has made a long list of achievements, including winning 1st place in the couples section, and 1st place teams section at the 2007 Annual Salsa Latin Dance Competition. In 2009 Coco’s team came 1st runner up at the NZ Salsa Nationals. Later that year “Salsa con Coco Performance Team” travelled to the USA to represent NZ in the 4th World Salsa Championships. In 2010 “Salsa con Coco Performance Team” was again crowned Champion at the NZ Salsa Nationals.

More recently Coco and his dance partner Vyara won the Bachata category at the 2012 NZ Salsa Championships, the 2013 NZ Salsa Championship Pro Salsa category as well as the 2013, 2014 and 2015 NZ Salsa Open Bachata & Pro Salsa Couple categories.

BARI & WIMMY (Wellington)

Between Wimmy & Bari, there is chemistry, connection and skills. Not only are they passionate teachers, they also infuse the classes with great techniques and practical explanations.

Wimmy & Bari are the founder of Dança in Wellington, where hundreds of people have never done Kizomba before have become advanced Kizomba dancers.

They have been dancing and working as a team since 2014, in their class you might not walk away with fancy moves, but with a great understanding of a true partnership in Kizomba.




REUBEN & MIA (Christchurch)

Reuben is a NZ Professional Salsa Champion, Judge for many NZ & Australian Salsa Dance Competitions and is the director/owner of ‘Salsa Latina’ Dance Centre in Christchurch, one of the few full time Latin dance teachers around. He has extensive teaching & performance experiences in many various styles in Latin dance and has trained vast amounts of dancers, some of which are still in the scene today doing extremely well. For over a decade his dancers & teams have achieved many prestigious NZ & Aust Champion titles including NZ & Aust Salsa Team Champions & this year in 2017, both his Salsa & Mambo teams became NZ national Champions again. Reuben started dancing Cuban/Miami Salsa & Brazilian Samba/Axé & Lambada back in late 1999 and moved into linear styles around 2005. Since then, he has learnt from countless local & international teachers, constantly learning and upgrading skills which have developed a unique personal style. However his passion & favoured styles are still Salsa on1 & on2, closely followed by Kizomba & Bachata. For 15 years he has also DJ’d at weekly event & organised many large scale Latin dance events in the South Island including the Hanmer Salsa Winter Festival & finally he has taught & djayed at most of the NZ Congresses over the years. Mia is orignally from Bali Indonesia, has been dancing Salsa for almost a decade with Salsa Latina and has a dance history since a child. Now teaching along side Reuben for the last few years and has won countless competitions in solo, couple & team categories, in New Zealand and Australia, with Scott her performance partner.
